Typical carving from Le Perche area with volutes on the two doors and the middle panel with the losanger shape often used in the Directoire style. The feet remain in the cabriolet style of Louis XV. The proportion of this buffet makes it rare as it is quite low and rare for a provincial piece.

The Transition period is the period between the Louis XVth and the Louis XVIth period, recognizable by the mix between the 2 styles. Here we note that the legs are still curved in the Louis XVth style and the design of the marquetry is already straight in the Louis XVIth style.
