Statue in gilded bronze representing “Vauban”, most famous architect under Louis XIV. Vauban is represented here on the fortification of Valenciennes, city that has been taken and fortified by Vauban in 1677. After 1678, Valenciennes became the most important fortified city of the North of France. This statue, unsigned is extremly fine and can be considered as a master work.
